Cantaloupe and Contemplation

Don't you love summer? What's not to love about cantalope, popsicles, sidewalk chalk, and baby pools?? Susan Margaret just can't seem to get enough...we have started giving her her baths in a galvanized tub outside in the evening much to her delight. Who needs a hot water heater with the Texas heat?



We have had many adventures lately....we rode the train at Zilker, hit PetsMart to visit the cats, dogs, and fish, and have had a good time celebrating graduation with an outstanding group of seniors.



Elise and Opa will be pleased to know that the valedictorian of the class, off to Columbia with over $300,000 worth of scholarships, was from Iowa originally. Of course, for the record, it would appear that she got to Texas as quickly as she could.



We are enjoying our neighbor friends, and I had confirmation yet again that Legos are the best toy invented while Susan Margaret was playing. While Luke and Jaden were building skeletons, Star Wars paraphenelia, and dude ranches out of the Legos, Susan Margaret was using the cover to some sort of racing pod from the Legos set to pass out tea to everyone. Don't you love it?! I will gladly report for Matt's sake as well that she also loves Hot Wheels and makes pretty convincing car noises!
