Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We did, but have since been homebound by sickness. We have managed to decorate for Christmas and it is so warm and cozy in here!
Wanted to write these down before they were forgotten. I have my nativities out including the one for Susan Margaret that Grammy gave her last year. She has loved playing with all of them, and gets slightly confused by all of the baby Jesus's floating around here.
Last night she loaded up all of the sheep,(with a candy cane as her shepherd's crook) and put them all in a little toy truck. She put a sheep in the driver's seat. The sheep then told his sheep passenger buddies, "Hey guys, come on, let's go talk to Jesus!"
We put our Santa and Mrs. Claus dolls, also a gift from Grammy, on the stairs. The next morning as she was headed up the stairs, she asked, "Hey who is these guys?" I explained that they were dolls of Santa Clause and his bride, Mrs. Clause. Susan Margaret responded, "Okay, hey , 'xcuse me ladies."
Then today, Susan Margaret had Mary and Joseph fussing at Jesus. "Jesus, we have been looking for you all day and all night."
While we have been confined indoors, Susan Margaret has been playing with Lola, a lot. Yesterday, Susan Margaret cupped Lola's face in her hands and said to her,"Lola, I love you, but you have got to choose to obey." Good to know that some of what we say sinks in.
Happy Birthday Trent!
