Ode to Stonewall

Life around here, well, never a dull moment. Whether raking 600 gallons of leaves as they continue to fall or enjoying the aroma of the rotting rodent carcas living out his final days in our wall, life really is pretty sweet. (although currently not sweet smelling)

Stonewall is the name of the squirrel. We have decided that since the squirrel will rest in peace in our house that it would at least be the thing to do to give him the respect of a name. And while initially it made me really squeanish, and I continue to regularly sniff my clothes for fear of forever after being known as the rat lady, it turns out that rats, like lemons, happen. As the saying goes...When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Only in this case it turns out to be...When life gives you dead rat, use RatSorb....the miracle working liquid that is supposed to eliminate the smell. I will say that I am rather disappointed by the marketing dept. for coming up with a name like RatSorb.

All else is well with the world! Matt is recovering from illness just in time to celebrate his 32nd bday today!! We celebrated this weekend with dinner and dessert and went to New Braunfel's to Oma and Opa's house Sunday night to celebrate. Which brings me to my funny daughter.......

Susan Margaret has spent a lot of time the last week and a half just laughing. She seems to really enjoy life and laughing!! You gotta love a girl who laughs at her own inside jokes that nobody else is in on. When we were at Oma and Opa's, Susan Margaret thoroughly enjoyed the new water feature that Opa had just put in a flower bed. It started with minor splasing and ended in a mostly naked girl with hot pink boots on who was dipping her head under the running water. Who needs Schlitterbaun when you've got good landscaping?!
